I have only been to two resorts: Sequoians, Castro Valley and Laguna Del Sol in Sacto. Both treated me well for being a single male and nobody made me feel awkward. I just show up, lay by the pool and read/sleep or talk.

First off, thanks for allowing me into the group. Second, I grew up in Oregon and am trying to get back there and live. The downside is the weather.

I currently live in California and I have to admit that the weather is darn near perfect in the bay area. I can sunbathe nude at Seqouians from April to October every weekend if I wanted to. But when I move back to Oregon I am going to lose that option. I will have to cram a years worth of sunbathing into two months during late summer:) So I will be actively following this group to see where to go.

Absolute Naturists arrow Picture Taking on Public Beaches

onthefence

Posted: Apr 10, 2014

Here is my take on pics. Obviously, at a private venue pics are a no-no unless the powers that be o.k. it. Fair enough.

On a public beach/mall/street etc., like has been stated, you have no right to privacy. That being said, I think that FireProf has it nailed down, in that you should tell people who might be in the frame-even if you are not intentionally trying to get them in the pic. That is just plain being considerate. If they complain one can explain what you are trying to do and that you are not trying to get them in the pic. I think most people would be o.k. with that discourse.

I realize that even though you have no expected right to privacy on a beach, I would still warn people. That person or group may not want to be in a pic at all for some particular reason. I can live with that.

I do disagree with DP in that they should be a 'home nudist' if they don't like it. Lots of people don't like their pic being taken (me for one in certain situations). My reason is a matter of life and limb....long story. What about people in the 60-70's who had interracial partners? Post their pic in a newspaper or even show it to the wrong person and that would cost them their house, job or life.

Just my 1 cent.

Absolute Naturists arrow Are National Nude/Naturist Organizations still relevant?

onthefence

Posted: Mar 31, 2014

O.k. here is my take on the National Org's. I will admit I am not a member-namely I forget to join due to old age and failing memory:) That is my story and I am sticking to it.

But from a more practical point of view, I recognize strength in numbers. However, from what I read here on NCH neither club seems to be doing much of anything about promoting this lifestyle (either to politicians or the next gen.). I realize that this is a very small slice of life and I may not be seeing the real picture.

I am going through something similar in my car club right now. I am the president (I am 43 and the youngest) and am trying to change the culture of a solidified club. The average age in my club is probably high 70's and I don't see to many young adults wanting to hang with a bunch of old geezers. So I am changing the way the club approaches people. Instead of being crotchety old guys (they really are very nice) that shield their cars from the public I am putting my car out there for people to see, touch and feel etc. This hopefully will get younger people interested in the hobby.

So maybe the National clubs could do the same. Change their marketing, the rules, be more inclusive of the younger generation by updating the clubs etc. Take a stringer stand on political issues as well.

Just my cents worth.

Here is a thought. I think it would help raise awareness but I think there is a reason they don't come out and admit being a nudist. That being since they are followed EVERYWHERE by the leeches (sorry if any of you are the paparazzi) snapping pics. of them.

However, this could be a good thing. If the celeb were to go to a club then they would be free from the pap. as they would not be able to get in. If they went to a beach then they would stand out (and maybe self conscious) and probably irritate other people which would drive pap. off. So it could be a win-win situation.

I just watched the movie and really enjoyed it. Great scenery and really pretty good acting all things considered. The plot was not bad, I liked the theme and the little girl was the greatest. I think she stole the show.

I noticed that they did not push the nudism to the forefront. They let it flow through the whole movie. They just showed that nudists are everyday people out enjoying themselves in the sun. Maybe they should release it again or make an updated version.

I just went to the Weird Video website to look for the movie. While there I looked at some other genre/time relavent movies. Some of what I saw made B movies look like Oscar winners.

But, something I noticed is that in the previews of some of the movies, I saw more women than men. So does that mean that more women back then participated in nudism or did they just have more women just for the movies? Or, is the clip showing the women for the sales angle?

Hello All,

I think I am posting in the right place, if not please move this post (but tell me where you put it;).

I am starting to plan a nakation to someplace I have always wanted to go and need some advice on where to go. I am coming from the USA so I have some limitations, but:

-I would like to snorkel/hike in the woods
-Need easy access to the resort from the airport
-I would like a room or even camping would be fine as long as I have access to either cooking or local pubs.
-I would like to meet people as sitting on a beach is a bit on the boring side by oneself.

Those are basic guidelines I have about a nudist resort. Do any of you have a suggestions on where to go and somethings to do while there?

onthefence

I am starting to plan my first nakation/vacation. Here are some things I would like to do (not necessarily all on one trip):

-Visit Australia/New Zealand
-Skinny snorkel
-Meet/interact other people
-Go to a resort
-Hike
-Sunbathe
-Maybe ride one of those boat pulled parachutes?

So here is the question, should I go on a cruise and try to do some of these items? I have never been on a cruise and don't know what to do on one first of all. Or should I just try and find a naturist resort in Australia/New Zealand and do them all? Any thoughts/tips/hints about cruises or resorts would be helpful.

Thanks,

Mike

Looking at these really cool ads got me to thinking. With all of the recent talk on this and other forums about going smooth or not, I noticed something. A lot of the subjects are not 'trimmed' up in any way. Is this 'trimming/smooth' route a recent trend?

I also noticed that many of the women are not the pencil thin 17.5 year olds. Which is nice to see a real person finally. In an old twist, the guys seem to be the pencil thin super young. I could be mistaken though.

I am just curious as I don't have a lot of experience under my belt so to speak, in the nudist/naturist world.

Having lived in Portland-and I desperately want to move back-I can't figure out why people up there are upset. Portland goes out of its way to be 'weird' and tolerant of people. Granted a lot of Californians are moving up there that may have something to do with it;).

But I can totally see someone doing what she does in Portland. I don't think she is nuts. She is just trying to prove a point and she is not hurting anyone doing it. I actually applaud and would support her if I lived there.

O.K. here is my delemma: my ex GF and I are friends and we talk a about once a week or so. But she has some body image issues and I thought about inviting her to my local club to see if I could dispell some of them. And generally just relax and get some sun.

She does not know that I am a nudist and I brought up the idea that she should check a club in passing one day. She was dead set against it saying that she did not want to see any 'shrivelled up penises'.

So, I am wondering if I should even tell her about me, and let her get used to the idea. Maybe if I can get her to warm up over the winter, next year she may come out to the local club. Any thoughts? Or am diluding myself by trying to help?
