FP....I do believe the 2 rooms are connected. So it makes sense if one is down, so could the other. Hard to know which is the causing the problem. But still doesn't justify the lack of word on the situation.

Not a peep, not a sorry, not a guess of when it will be operational again, not even an acknowledgement that they have been contacted, NADA! Granted I am not a paying member, but those that choose to pay are quite upset about no comment from Admins.

This was the 4th show we entered this year. How was your car season this year, please tell us about it.

If I may say what I know of Acadia from only one visit, it is a privately owned, multi-themed based, nude club business. They have some RV parking areas, and several cabins for rent. There is a nice outdoor pool, as well as an indoor hot tub. While they do have a few single mingle events, most week end events are toted as "Romantic Get A Ways". The owner is pleasant and trying to make a living by catering to different groups and interests. The place is not for everyone, including us. While we will not be returning, there are SIG's that could be interested.

I say absolutely NOT! Legal or not, it is still a judgement impairment drug. If it isn't, why are people be charged with Under The Influence of Drugs while driving? As a smoker of tobacco products, I have been bitched and yelled at for lighting up in cities, parks, beaches, etc. Why should it be different for pot smokers? The idea seems to, once again, lower cigarette smokers to a lower class of society in some peoples eyes. Many say they don't like the smell of cigarettes. Well, I hate the smell of pot. I am restricted to where I can smoke, so should pot smokers.

Plans are to head to the coast of Washington and work our way south stopping for several days at a time as we head south as far as San Francisco. We plan on staying to Laguna del Sol, and the Sequioians club.
Then head east towards the Moab, UT, as I wish to show Connie that area. She's never been before, and I want to go into Canyon Lands and Arches Parks one more time.
Heading north, a few days in Yellowstone Park. Still northward, will hit our fav club in Worley Idaho for 2 to 3 wks before heading back into BC and home.
That should take 2 months or so....No rush this time. Hope to see some of you nudies along the way.

Earlier I mentioned another story concerning AANR. Try applying from a foreign country. Yes, AANR deems Canada a foreign country. After main dues are paid, then they add an extra charge (not sure if they still do) for not living in the US. Then figure out exchange rate of monies, the end bill gets larger and larger.

And then there is the Bulletin. Wonderful example of a lot of advertising, and few stories. Oh I know, the ads pay for the newsletter, but where do my extra fees go. And living in a foreign country, I tried submitting a story of a motorcycle trip across both countries. I got a very nice letter back stating, ``Although we appreciated the story you submitted, it will not be published due to it being mostly Canadian content.`` A phone called to AANR office to discuss got the same distain. Boy, did that make us feel so wanted. All they wanted was my CANADIAN money, and then do not contact until membership is due again. It was then that I did not renew.

I am sure most of you have had a wonderful reception from AANR, bit of a different story from different country.

I am so against option #3, I don't even know where to start. I would like to see discrimination done away at ALL clubs. Option #3 in itself is discrimination in my mind.... Sure we'll let singles men join, we'll just charge them more, cuz they won't mind. What about the single ladies? Will they charge them more as well? If not, isn't that just another case of discrimination?

Some landed and non-landed clubs have gone as far as having ``Single Weekends`. Why... One reason I`ve heard is that singles can meet and mingle with other singles. Singles are no more threatening than some married folks I`ve met with wandering sexual motives, both men and women.

I had heard one case here in the US where a couple had been married 50 yrs. He and she had both club members for many years, been huge supporters of their home club, he even been on Board of Directors. Unfortunately, she passed after lengthy fight with cancer. he then being single, was actually asked to leave the club because `No single members allowed`.

{ Moderator (dbo): I remember a family winning the AANR "Family of the year" award, and when they got divorced later, the husband was no longer welcome at some clubs! }

Here's a novel concept..... Option #4) Treat everyone equal.

Rusty

Moderator (dbo) ----------------------

Okay, I added another disadvantage for Option #3:
It could even alienate people, so that they would never want to go to that club.

I think we should keep Option #3 in the list, though, to show how strongly opposed people are to such an idea.

Please take the following comments I am about to make, not as debate of the topic. But rather personal experience and points not covered that I have seen.

In 1994 I 1st joined AANR as a direct member. Why direct? Because of 2 fold reason. Firstly, nearest club was (either landed or non-landed) over 400 miles away. In 1995 I joined that landed club as "Out of town" member and changed my status from direct to club member. It has since closed, nearest club now 550 miles, plus an expensive ferry ride for 1.5hrs each way. Second, and main reason for joining AANR was financial. As a member, I could receive a discount on day fees. Yes, I will admit it, I like to save money when possible. After the club got too political for my liking, I left it. In and around, 2000 I join FCN, the Cdn equivalent of AANR. That again was 2 fold reasoning. First off, it was Cdn based, and after dealing with AANR by both phone and correspondence, I must say I was less than impressed. That's another story. I felt better supporting a Cdn association. But it is less expensive than AANR, but secondly, with same discount. There I go again, saving money. About 5 yrs ago, us and another cpl were "busted" by the RCMP for skinny dipping at a secluded lake. I brought out my FCN card, the other fella his AANR card and we talked about nudism and the law. (Another story.) Now to the present. I am now a member of both FCN and AANR. At club that we enjoy, we bought a summer season membership, although not required, has a 100% AANR requirement. No problem. The pass saves us money again in the long run for the amount of time we spend at their wonderful facilities.

The points that I am trying to make are:

1) location to a club is not always close by to get AANR membership.
2) depending on the club, membership can save a person money
3) membership card opens door to clubs that non members may have closed in their face

What I would like to see more standardized is more clubs adhere to the guidelines AANR uses, instead of hiding behind their own. Such as not allowing many of the following: singles, gays, lesbians, tats, piercing, or many of the other preconceived notions that "different" is wrong. So much for not being pre-judged.

Thank you for reading and allowing my comments.

My advise to those that enjoy nudism without their spouse knowing is, TELL THEM! Why hide what you enjoy. Spouse could wonder what else you're hiding. When my g/f and I talked about moving in together, I told her right up front that I was nude at home. We talked about and she tried. Loves it now. That was 10yrs ago, now married for almost 3. I enjoy having her with me at nudist venues, as well at home. Please ppl, don't hide and waste yrs of togetherness in nudism. Tell your spouse!

When we were down in the US in May, fuel worked out to $0.97/litre. Granted, under those definitions, we don't go to resorts, but have checked prices at a few so hence not gone for our budget. But with that said, Sun Meadow has hotel style rooms for rent at $70 or $80/nite ( don't quote me on exact pricing) but it includes conti breakie in the morning.

And if summer membership is bought, if a person stays 21 days between May and Sept, days 22 and on are basicly free. Not sure where the $100 -$125 a day comes from. What am I missing???

Here it is, Friday nite. Although we have still 2 more days, I thought I'd catch up with a report on the new (to us) RV for the last 7 days. The 1st couple of days here at the club www.sunmeadow.org/ we found out that the roof AC unit works fine. Thank goodness! Then we found out the awning is nice to sit under during light rains. Then today the sun was out again and wonderful.

We still have 1 more days to go, before the 12hr drive home. We'll take 2 days to get home from here. But had a minute before the movie starts in the club house, so wanted to post while I could.

It's been nice to be nude outside again after the mild, but long, winter.

yes I would. In fact she joined us for 4 days a few yrs ago. It was so nice to have her there with us. It was her 1st visit to a c/o venue, but loved every minute of it. Had plans of returning. Unfortunatly, she never made it back, she passed away 2 yrs later at 90. It was 1st time I had seen her nude, ever. Nudity was not done in the home as a kid.

Connie figures that if her mom had been in better health, she might have gone along too. Guys, I can't tell you in words how nice it is to have your parents join you in nudism. It brings you closer.

I realize, it is about 7hrs from Calgary, but worth the 12hr drive for us from here. In fact, heading the tomorrow for 10 days. We have been there several times over the last cpl of yrs. The name of the place is Sun Meadow, look it up if interested.

IMHO, if a person only goes to the club but a few times a year, then the costs could be considered high. The clubs that we have visited and pay by the day, are equal if not lower then KOA's. On the other hand, when we go for 3 wks or longer to a club, paying the summer membership is a cost saving. One needs to weigh the options for how often they plan on going, to decide which is more budget thrifty for them.

Jim...That's a good idea, aleast it was for me. I talked to neighbors a few yrs ago on all sides and only 1 had a problem with me being nude in the back yard. So I go out when they're not home. It's nice running the lawn tractor and doing stuff in the back yard and not worry about wearing anything.

Was kinda funny last yr. The ppl on the south side have kids ( 7 & 5) so I was headed over to make sure it as still OK with them, with the kids getting older and all. Part way over, I looked up and both kids were running thru the sprinkler w/o suits on. I came back home, it was all the answer I needed. :-)

Good questions skyclad, let me answer for us.

For all Canadians, or travelers TO Canada:
1) How do you define a "proper vacation"?

A proper vacation for us is simply getting away from home and camping.

2) How far are you comfortable or willing to travel for your vacations?

In the summer, we tend to travel 1200kms or more from home area.

3) How long do you settle in at any one place? How long would you PREFER to take in any one place?

Last summer, and again this yr, the plan is for 3 to 4 wks at the club in Idaho that we like. I have gone for as long as 5wks on a motorcycle trip down thru the south-western states.

4) Do you use a locale/place as your destination or as a central hub for traveling to and from other places?

The last cpl of yrs it depends on the destination. We have done both, stay at one site, or use it as a hub for day trips.

What do others do on their holidays?

I wish there was more to offer you in that area for nudism, but alas not much that I know of. There is one place near Halicom Hot Spring that has nude access, but that is all I know of in the area. If you are by chance heading to Vancouver Island, there is a very nice club there named Sol Sante. Depending on how you are returning home, nice club in Idaho that we go to named Sun Meadows.

Not much help, but I hope you enjoy your trip.

Only differences I have noticed, is more throttle up a hill, and braking sooner down a hill. And on wet roads, corner more careful as the extra weight wants to try and kick rear tire out.

Just my most humble opinion.

Keeping in mind this is only MY opinion, and I don't mean to bring others down, I will apologize now to any upset with my post.

The Christmas season is NOT my fav time of year. Even before Halloween was over, the carols started on the radio and TV ads. Too early! Let us atleast get the Trick or Treaters off the porch, and the 2 minutes of silence of Remembrance Day done before the Big Box stores bombarding us with ads and their money grab. Sales like Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. Supposedly they lower their prices 20% to 50%, they don't say how much they quietly raise the prices beforehand, to give us those discounts. And if those discounts can be given on those days, are they gouging the others days of the year??

Christmas is a wonderful time to get together with friends and family. To stay in touch with loved ones. To remember and help the less fortunate. To spread some good cheer. Perhaps an Act of Random Kindness.

Oh, the newspaper just arrived, it's full of flyers of all the sales at the stores....I JUST DON'T CARE!

Rustysask... I think one of the problems you may encounter with a club in the area you mentioned, is the same problem we have here. Too short a season. In my thinking, to make a club possible, and profitable, it would need a longer "open season" than N. Sask, or Northern BC can offer. I too wish there was something closer to us, but can surely understand some of the reasons there isn't. At least you have the clubs in Saskatoon and Regina. Although I am sure they are take alot of driving time, my closest is either a 9hr drive plus ferries costs to Vancouver Island, or 12hr drive into Idaho.

I wish you lots of luck in finding a place you can use.

I don't consider myself as a naturist...I don't always do healthy things, I try to do things that are not harmful to the Earth, not always succeeding. I don't always eat right. I'm not big on exercise.

I don't care about labels, I don't care what others think of the way I live my life, I don't care what peoples opinion are of why I am nude. I am nude for me, no one else. I am me. If a person doesn't like it, that is THEIR problem, I refuse to make it mine.

The mornings are cool, frost most every morning this month. But in the mid 20's Celsius during the day so I am not complaining.

As far as winter activities, not many options for us. We do visit some friends a few blocks away for cards, Wii, and dominoes. Like us, clothes are not needed at their home. And yes, their hot tub is a good place to sit on cold nights. Nearest nude swim is a 5hr drive. Costly for fuel, and a motel, just for a 2hr swim. But we will make it thru I'm sure. :-)

Even now, he'll cuddle up close next to me on the couch for quiet time

Although step daughter and sil don't go nude here, and prefer we don't when they visit, they have known from the get go that we will be nude when g son visits, and they are OK with that. We're still working on mom and dad.

The 'experts' call it "kangaroo care", or cuddles. Still at 6, he likes to climb up on the couch with me and cuddle close at my side. I remember when he was about 2, I was having a shower. I looked down and he had peeled everything off and was climbing in with me. It was kinda cute. As you can tell, nudity was/is not hidden from him here. The one point of vulnerability that I have seen and hate is when females enter the chat room. Most males are attracted to them like moths to a light. Some more pushy than others. Still trying to get my wife back into the chat room, she hated thye amount of instant friend requests that are sent to her.

Olivia...One of the reasons I like YAHOO is sometimes the chat room has so many ppl in it, it is hard to have a REAL convo. After we packed the van at the club in Idaho, we headed back into Wa. state. Being that I had been nude for the past 8 days, the last thing I wanted to do was get dressed. So I didn't bother. The several hour drive from N. Idaho into central WA. was great. The only time I got my shorts and T-shirt on was when we stopped for fuel and lunch in WA. Finally put shorts back on when we were just about to enter the campground in WA which was textile. Felt good to drive in the warm air nude, as it always does.

I agree with you Jim, but feel that if a lot of ads on TV or mags would stop 'enhancing' the female breast, the site of one would be less stimulating. Biggest offeder, IMHO, is Victoria's Secret ads. They exagerate a person's attention to a part of the female body that offends some if we men see a bare breast.

The millions spent, which was actually monies belonging to the people of Britain not the royal family, could have been better spent within the country, given the world economic situation, helping people. Or helping on a world scale with the devastation in Haiti, Sumatra, Japan, the homeless of Canada, the tornadoes in the US, or any other of many causes. The man below replied, " You are in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You are between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude, and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."

"You must be an Engineer" said the balloonist.

"I am," replied the man, "how did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you have told me is probably technically correct, but I've no idea what to make of your information, and the fact is, I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help at all. If anything, you've delayed my trip by your talk."

The man below responded, "You must be in Management."

"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?"

"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You have risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise, which you've no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is, you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met. LARC's near Mt. Vernon, although they are friendly and have a nice hot tub and lots of grassy areas, there is no pool.

If you live in southern WA., you might keep Mountaindale Sun Club (west of Portland) in mind. Truth is, it is both of our's fav club to visit. Nice pool, friendly people, lots of sunning areas. Many game areas set up.

Hope my 2 cents worth is of some help.

I used to be a member of Sunny Trails. The club, and the executive, is a joke. They should loose their AANR and FCN status, IMHO, for not having a suitable nude area, or nude camping spots.

Well, being as the plates run out today, we went for a last bike ride of this year. The temp was in the 50's, sun was sort of out, but it was great to be on the road. Picked up oil and filter, fill it with gas, and rode the 15miles back home. Got the oil changed and now the bike is in hibernation until spring.

Where I am, all the lots are an acre big. The house to the south, and the one across the road, have no problem with us being nude in the yard. The ppl on the north, don't like us out nude when their kids or they are home. However, they let us use their pool and know that we skinny dip when they are out.

Is anyone else participating in any Toy Runs in your area?

We?re home! Had a great trip, here are a few of the highlites. Left home on the 19th of July heading south to Happy Campers Hideaway http://www.fvnc.ca/Happy%20Campers%20Page.html in Mission. Dressless and Marigold were an hour or so behind us. Met up with Paul and & Elaine already camped. It was very nice to see them again. There were a large number of FVNC http://www.fvnc.ca/home.htm members, some we knew, others we know now. Dinner at HCH was a wonderful pig roast that Hans (the owner) had started over the coals at 7am that morning. By dinner time, everyone was ready to try it. After dinner, everyone sang Happy B?Day to Hans for it was his 80th that day.

On Sunday, Joontiki and her other half joined us for a little while as they were on the lower mainland for the weekend. It was the 1st time we had met, was great to put a face to the words on the forums. The rest of the stay was sun, relaxation, and reading.

On Wednesday, Dressless, Marigold, Connie and I drove into Wash. heading for Mountaindale Resort http://www.mountaindalesunresort.com/ in Oregon. Was a wonderful day driving down the Chuckanut Drive thru Bellingham, Wa. Spent the nite near Tumwater, Wa. In the morning, headed to the club approx 20miles west of Portland. It was the clubs annual Strawberry Festival. Great weekend of meeting people, music, food, and of course strawberry shortcake.

Monday morning saw Dressless and Marigold head home for they had company arriving from out of town. Connie and I left on Tuesday back into Wash. and continued onto Fraternity Snoqualmie http://www.fraternitysnoqualmie.com/ for a couple of days. It was here that we saw a bit of drizzle, 1st and last bit of rain the whole time gone.

After a spending a few days there, the rest of our drive home included visiting with relatives. We both enjoyed the time away, but

We are naked here at home and have not dressed when the grandson is here from the time he was born. He will be 3 in Oct. Although his mom and dad are not comfortable being nude around others, they know he will have that choice when he is visiting. They are at at their home, but have no intention (so far) of joining us here. I gues what I am trying to say is, IMHO it is never too soon to start.

Maureen...If I may make a couple of suggestions, we were there in Jan of 07. We stayed at the Hangin' Loose resort of the Big Island. Nice folks....Also spent some time on Kahena Beach for some nude time. On sundays, they have a gathering of locals for a drum circle. Was a lovely experience to hear the drumming, the wonderful people, and the swim in the ocean.

A few yrs ago, we had a couple from out of town visiting for the weekend. We drove out of town 25kms, and then 2kms into the bush to a lake for a skinny dip and a BBQ. As it turned out, someone reported us to the RCMP. An officer came out to talk to us, all the while us nude in the sun. After offering him a pop, we spent 45 mins discussing nudism, the AANR, and the FCN. It was a good experience.
