When I worked full time at a paint store, I continued to work as a painter. Since painting was no longer my main source of income (though a significant source), I would paint only with the understanding that I would work nude. You can see my story at http://www.michigannudebeachadvocates.org/Articles.html#article_Tales_of_Two_Naturists Scroll down to Matthew's Story.

As an update, after I got laid off a couple years ago, I have had to depend upon painting as my entire source of income. Many of my clients are referred by Realtors. To protect them from flashback, I do not ask their clients if I can paint naked.

Nonetheless, I still get plenty of jobs where I do get to work naked. I've been at one house now for about three weeks painting naked at the invitation of the home owner. At our first meeting, we got to discussing our interests and I mentioned how I liked to hike nude and skinnydip. She invited me to work naked. I work naked despite the presence of other contractors (plumber, carpenter, floor installers) and her family.

I have a job coming up that was a referral from the clients of a Realtor. This couple noticed by sign in a box. The sign is hung to advise people that they will encounter a nude painter. Seeing the sign lying in my storage box, they read it and invited me to paint in the nude (which I did). At the bid, the couple they referred me to talked with me about naturism, understood that I work naked, and asked me for information on Turtle Lake Resort. Her last message to me (accepting my bid)thanked me for the link to TLR and said they will be going there this summer.

Today, I just got an e-mail from a past client for whom I painted much of her interior while nude asking me to paint her kitchen and dining room.

Sounds great. Hopefully the opportunities to work nude will continue to expand. Perhaps it's a positive sign nudity is becoming more accepted by mainstream society.

American society is more open to nudity than we are led to believe by the media and the authorities. See this article: http://www.michigannudebeachadvocates.org/Articles.html#OK_to_be_Open
