I support Obama as well. I even tried to become one of his delegates from Kansas - it's a testament of the inspiration this man inspires as over 70 people were running for 5 delegate spots in our local congressional district convention.

Let me paraphrase Obama here: "We cannot allow John McCain to serve George Bush's third term." I'm sure that phrase will apply to all future Republicans, but for now the focus is on McCain as he's the GOP nominee.

As a person of mixed race, I often wonder at the fact that people forget the fact that Obama is half white and half African. Not that i believe that he needs to emphasize the fact that he is Caucasian to legitimize his run for president, but being of mixed race really affords you a unique perspective of race in this country...

If he becomes president, it will have a tremendous effect on youth of color in this country. In the same way that I felt disheartened as a person of color growing up under Reagan/Bush, can you imagine the impact it will have for them knowing that it is actually true that they too could be president? It boggles my mind!
