MADISON (WKOW) -- Clear Channel Radio is backing their D. J. over a controversial contest asking listeners to send naked pictures of themselves in order to win concert tickets.

DJ Tyler Kruze held the impromptu contest Wednesday night.

"He asked them to send pictures of themselves doing housework in the nude, in the buff," says Clear Channel FM Operations Manager Mike Ferris, "It was a cute little idea for them to have some fun."

Not everyone thought it was so cute.

A Madison area woman heard the contest on the radio, she sent us an e-mail saying she was shocked and appalled. Calling the contest a form of pornography.

"This had nothing to do with that, this was just doing housework in the buff, it was silly and impromptu. That's all it was, it had nothing to do with sex," Ferris said.

Clear Channel said the DJ did not get permission to run the contest, but add that Z104 followed "strict guidelines" to make sure all contestants were over the legal age limit.

The angry e-mailer demanded the radio station and the DJ be punished for the controversial contest.

Clear Channel Apologized, but is sticking by Kruze for his decision.

"Tyler did nothing wrong, and that's the truth," Ferris says.

Clear Channel did say DJ Tyler Kruze was reprimanded, but did not say what that entailed.

Kruze did issue an apology on the stations website and over the air.
Nice to hear a media group standing behind something that's perfectly reasonable... at least, sort of standing behind it. I wonder what's up with the punishment stuff. But I'm glad the DJ at least knows the difference between nudity and sex.
