A NUDIST accused of terrifying a woman at a beach may claim he was mistaken for another naked man.
Derek Holliday, 58, admits he was naked on Dumbarnie Links beach, near Upper Largo, Fife, on the day of the incident.
But his lawyers have argued the beach is a well-known nudist spot and that he may have been mixed up with another naturist.
Holliday, of Glenrothes, is accused of "parading naked" in front of a woman and frightening her by approaching and following her.
Defence advocate Jonathan Crowe asked Cupar Sheriff Court for time to find out whether the woman had mixed his client up with another naked man.
He said: "It may well be that the complainer in this case did in fact see this other man."
At an earlier hearing, Holliday denied approaching and following the woman.
His solicitor Douglas Williams also rejected the Crown's claim that Holliday's behaviour on September 4 last year had a sexual element.
The trial was put off to January.
